You left me wanting

Across the quad,
You left me wanting.
I watched you walk,
Clutching files across your chest.
You left me wanting.
Across the room,
You left me wanting.
I watched you work,
Piercing eyes over the rim of your glasses.
You left me wanting.
Across the wards,
You left me wanting.
I watched you cradle our babies,
Your velvet lips rest on their heads as you inhale, taking in our love.
You left me wanting.
Across the aisle,
You left me wanting.
I watched you glide, my swan,
Such grace, such finness breathtaking beauty.
You left me wanting.
Across life’s distractions,
You left me wanting.
I watched as you hurt,
Spoken words retracted blackest of ink redacted.
You left me wanting.
Across the bed,
You left me wanting.
I watch you sleep, Kissing your closed eyes,
Asleep, you interlock fingers with me as you turn.
You left me wanting.
