Little kitten – a poem from a dad about his little girl growing up too fast

You act pretty big
And you talk pretty big
With your mini skirt and make up
and your soft pink pig!

You’re like bamboo
as you fit mum’s shoes
With your snap chat and insta
But your thumb goes in when it’s time to snooze

The chat these days is boys
Less buzz about the toys
Santa’s list has changed a lot these days

Hearing ‘Daddy’ still brings joy

So i cherish these days and plead

That I’m the only man you’ll need
You lie between us when every nightmare

My infinite love for you is guaranteed

Apply brakes with growing please stop
I’d be lost without hearing ‘pops’
Who lifts you when always down
And shelters you from life’s raindrops
