Muddy – a poem about the sometimes painful process of trying and moving forward

The careless footprint,

The discarded lint,
The touch never made,
The glancing shade,
The date missed,
The off-target kiss,
The ground-in dirt,
The immeasurable hurt,
The valanced pain,
The drought-less rain,
The veiled emotion,
The stagnant evolution,
The unwashed remark,
The anticipation, stark,
The unfiltered thoughts,
My resolve is wrought.
